If You're Considering The Fox Eye Lift, Read This First!

Thread lifts, for the uniformed, are basically a non-surgical brow lift that involves inserting a tiny dissolvable thread into the face and pulling up the skin. Basically, the real-life version of FaceTune.

The dissolvable threads are covered in microscopic barbs that anchor into the tissue, pull it up, and tack it in place.

I can’t even tell you how painful and uncomfortable this procedure was. It was traumatic! I left the clinic trembling and drove immediately to the drug store for pain relief. I had sharp shooting pains going into my brain and I swore I felt a thread snap before I even got to my car.

My eyes were so tight, I could barely blink and when I sneezed that night I thought I broke my face.

The first thing and probably most important thing I was not told about this procedure was that your eye are and forehead area MUST be completely frozen. Any type of movement can and will snap the threads. And trust me when I say this, you have no idea the amount of times you move your eye muscles until you experience what I went through.

I was also told there was zero downtime. Which is not true. I had a massive black eye that the thickest concealer couldn’t conceal and my skin was crazy puckered. I had to work the next day so I had to tape my hair over it in order to hide it.

The shooting pains lasted about a week and I had to sleep on my back for almost two months. Touching my temples was not an option. I swear every time I touched them like wiping my eyes or rubbing them when I was tired sent painful ‘spikes’ throughout the area.

5 days after the procedure I woke up with one eye completely snapped and back to normal. So I was then left with uneven eyes. Awesome! Thankfully the other one snapped a few days later returning my eyes back to what I started with in the beginning.

Which brings us to…

that pulled-back effect is actually only temporary.  You’re only going to see a nice ‘lift’ for the first 2-3 weeks, and then your body starts to absorb the threads and the lift goes down. Or in my case, they’ll snap overnight. So if your ultimate dream is to look like an Instagram model, thread lifts will only give you the effects for a few weeks, max. I seriously wish I knew this before hand. It took almost 7 months for my temples to not be sore when I touched them. It did fuck all!

The temple and eyebrow is such a small area that condensing multiple threads in a tight vector will cause a ton of scar tissue and trauma. It can also increase the risk of foreign body rejection—where your immune system literally tries to destroy and push out the threads. If you’re going for this aesthetic permanently, your options are really only surgical, like a brow lift and/or eyelid surgery.

So, save your money on this one! And don’t buy into the images on Instagram.

A few hours after the procedure and already one side is snapping. You can see how uneven they are.

Before; Nighttime. After; Morning. Snapped overnight after 5 days. Still showing signs of bruising.

And just like that the effect is over. 5 days total. Wow. But thank god because that puckering was bad!

This is a demonstration of How ‘back to normal’ my eyes went. I pulled my eyes up in the first photo to show where the threads were and what it went back to. This was 2 weeks later. Completely back to normal.
