Airbnb a Private cabin in Tulum

Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It’s known for its beaches and well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city. Or better yet, it’s super laid back hippie vibe with boutique hotels that are no taller than the tree tops. Everything is nestled into its natural surroundings and measures are taken not to destroy the landscape when a new building goes up. The hotels and restaurants run on generators so in the evenings you get this cool campy vibe.

The smell of incense runs ramped throughout, but I’m not sure if it’s for the vibe or to keep the bugs away. Either way, smell has a powerful way of reconnecting you to a place, person or thing. So it’s definitely a cool take-away.

Sometimes they can have a lot of seaweed on the beaches.. just make sure you do your research before you go.

If you’re looking for a place of your own without any interruptions, I highly recommend staying at Vida Silvestre. It’s on the ‘non-beach’ side and there are private little 2 story loft cabins to stay in. There’s a pool, common bbq area and bikes to help you get around.

I just LOVE it!
